Yeee-haw. We wanted to take a moment to let you know about a slew of new goodies we’ve added over the last few weeks.
Quick Mill QM67 Dual Boiler
A double boiler for under $2k? Quick Mill’s latest model features the E61 brew head, separate boilers for simultaneous steaming and brewing, an integrated PID for controlling the brew boiler temp and a simple case design. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading to a prosumer-class machine but your budget hasn’t allowed it, the QM67 is definitely worthy of your consideration.
Bonavita Variable Temperature Gooseneck Kettle
We did a crew review of this featuring the engineer, Brian, a few months back, but the kettles themselves finally hit the market at the end of August! Select a specific temp and the kettle will heat until it reaches it, then hold it at that temp as well. With the curved gooseneck, it’s an excellent option for precision pour over preparation (say that three times fast!).
Saeco Tune-Up Kits
Love your Saeco semi-automatic? Keep it tuned up and in excellent working order with one of our three new parts kits. These include everything you need for a regular cleansing of your Aroma, Sirena or Via Venezia, plus instructions on how to get the job done.
There will be a day in our future — perhaps distant, perhaps not — in which we will seriously regret the little robots we have allowed to take over our lives. Sure, it may seem a far-fetched form of paranoia straight out of a whole slew of science fiction films, and sure, these one-touch superautomatic espresso machines aren’t going to hijack your space ship or implant themselves in your brain … but this is where it begins, friends. This is where it begins.
Watch Gail’s overview of our future robot overlords’ ancestors — including models from Saeco, Jura and DeLonghi.
Show your DeLonghi superautomatic espresso machine how deeply you care for it by … well, caring for it! Their recently introduced Coffee Care Kit gives you all the goodies you need, specially formulated for your DeLonghi machine.
Watch Gail take us through what’s included in the kit.
If you’ve ever wondered about the finer points of the coffee pucks created by superautomatic espresso machines, we’re here to put that mystery to rest. Finally!
We setup three different machines — the Saeco Syntia, the Jura Ena 4 and the DeLonghi Magnifica S — to grind at their finest and dose their maximum quantity, then we compared them side by side. Check out how they differ in grind, consistency and dose.
What happens when someone picks up a new espresso machine and, after using it for a few weeks, decides it’s just not the right model for them? It is magically transformed into a Certified Refurbished version of its former self! Okay, maybe it’s not magic — there’s a lot of hard work that goes into testing and cleaning these machines — but their transformation does result in an excellent choice for anyone on the lookout for a superautomatic espresso machine that won’t break the bank.
Watch Gail talk to us about what to expect with a machine that is Certified Refurbished by Seattle Coffee Gear. Then she shows us the Saeco Syntia‘s standard features, demonstrates how to set up the machine and then makes us a lovely cup of coffee.
