Crew Review: Bonavita Variable Temp Kettle

Brian from Bonavita came by for a visit and shared with us his newest toy: The Variable Temperature version of their popular electric kettle.

Watch as he takes us through the development process and talks with Gail about the features of the new kettle. Then Gail uses it to make a batch of Velton’s Twilight Blend on the Chemex.

This new model is not yet available; the current ETA for the US is late August 2012.

I was wondering if i could pre-order the programmable bonavita variable temp kettle? wish it were bigger in size, but it beats not reheating the water all the time. I just thought about it. A question for you, does the water in the 1 liter electric kettke get old, reheating it outside of an hour?

No pre-orders yet as we don’t have a firm ETA from Bonavita. Once we do, we will likely make this option available.

Reheating over and over again could change the taste; I think that if you plan on doing a bunch of brewing right out of the gate, that’s perfect. But probably wouldn’t want this kicking on and off all throughout the day for wear & tear, etc.
