Field Trip: La Marzocco’s Strada Filter Basket
Last week, Joe Monahan and Jack Kuo of La Marzocco were kind enough to talk with this about their new, highly-precise basket — currently dubbed the Strada (after their cutting edge pressure profiling machines). Watch as they explain the theory behind it, why they wanted to build a better basket and the calibration process itself. The goal? Increase consistency in extraction, of course! These 58mm baskets will be available shortly.
Which VST basket would be the best to use with a standard Rocket double portafilter, the 15 or 18 gram size?
I haven’t tested both, but I’d go with the 15 as it will be more similar to your Rocket’s double, depth-wise.

Will a single and a double be available ?
We’re hoping to get them in the next few weeks. I believe they will have single, double and triple, but not positive. We’ll post when they are good to go.
